Fetal Negligence in Newfoundland – Information for Parents
http://www.chescrosbie.com/ When you are a parent, one of your worst nightmares is that your child will be severely injured. Sadly, fetal negligence does happen and can cause lifelong problems for the child, including cerebral palsy. In this video, medical malpractice lawyer Ches Crosbie talks about fetal negligence in Newfoundland and throughout the country.
Negligence can occur when standards slip and warning signs of fetal distress are ignored or not acted upon fast enough. The result is devastating, as the child suffers from neurological damage or other problems.
Cerebral palsy is one of the conditions that can result from fetal negligence. Cerebral palsy can be so debilitating that it can require 24-hour care. Even if it is not extremely severe, cerebral palsy can still cause many issues for the child as he or she grows into an adult.
The damages for fetal negligence cases can be significant, as the cost of lifetime care is high. For example, wheelchairs, vans, lifts and other equipment may be needed, in addition to the other medical expenses.
