Moose Class Action to be ready for settlement or trial by year end
We expect to have the relevant documents from the province by the end of March. We have also agreed with government lawyers to begin assembling documentation of the various collisions in which class members were involved, starting with the police accident reports. The plan is to then go to the insurance companies and obtain the documents that they may have on file. Then if the government lawyers are interested, we can begin the process of obtaining class member medical records (with class member consent of course), and valuing individual claims.Government lawyers are not saying that settlement is out of the question, which is encouraging, but they are not saying they have instructions to settle either. There is reason for cautious optimism. Our plan is to have everything necessary to go to trial, done by the end of this year. As the saying goes, “If you want peace, prepare for war.”
