Best Lawyers is a world-wide online lawyer directory based in the United States. Lawyers in every practice area just about anywhere in the world can be nominated by their peers for a listing in Best Lawyers.
Newfoundland accident and injury lawyers at Ches Crosbie Barristers were recently notified about being nominated once again as Best Lawyers in Newfoundland for personal injury litigation. We’ve been listed in the 2014 Best Lawyers directory edition.
It’s a great compliment to be viewed by other members of the legal community as great Newfoundland lawyers in the area of personal injury law.
So when members of the public are looking for a lawyer and they go to www.BestLawyers.com to search for Ches Crosbie Barristers, why doesn’t the firm show up?
It does. But unless you subscribe to the directory ($250 annual fee), you can’t see the results. Most people wouldn’t buy a subscription like this unless they’re in the legal community.
If Ches Crosbie Barristers wanted to show up in the search results of people who do not have a subscription, we would have to buy an extra feature called the Best Lawyers Global Links Program ($250 base fee plus $150 per lawyer listed).
We don’t buy the Global Links Program because in our opinion, no one knows enough about Best Lawyers to actually use it as a tool to look for a lawyer. Ches Crosbie Barristers gratefully accepts the compliment of being among “the best” and leaves it at that.
There is a Canadian peer-reviewed online lawyer directory called Lexpert that does not require buying subscriptions to see listings. Ches Crosbie Barristers has been nominated by peers and listed in Lexpert a few years in a row. This listing, the public can actually verify. Click this link and search for either Ches Crosbie Barristers or Ches Crosbie in St. John’s, NL.
