Q: What is traumatic brain injury?

A: Traumatic brain injury can be defined as any damage to the brain caused by trauma of any sort.  Brain injuries are sometimes categorized as mild, moderate or severe, but even a mild brain injury can have serious consequences.  Health Practitioners use a number of measuring sticks to categorize brain injuries.  Two of the most commonly used are the Glasgow Outcome Scale and the Glasgow Coma Scale.
