What do I have to do to join the class action?
A: We encourage people to enlist as class members with us as soon as they become aware of the class action. This gives credibility to the class action and helps to ensure your right of participation in any money payment. However, you do not have to do anything to become a member of the plaintiff class until certification is granted. The proposed class is defined in the statement of claim. If you are a Newfoundland and Labrador resident and fall within the definition, and the class action is certified, you are automatically a member unless you opt out. If you are a non-resident class member, you will have to decide to opt in as set out by court order.
If you believe you fall within the definition, send your contact information to Ches Crosbie Barristers at the address below. We will endeavor to keep you advised as the matter proceeds through postings on the website, emails, or other correspondence. Ultimately, if the class action is certified then steps will be taken to identify all members of the class.
