The Fight for Access to Justice

At a recent convention in New York, I was inspired by a speaker presentation for Public Justice, keynoted by former President Bill Clinton.  Public Justice is America's public interest law firm.

The key to this law firm is that it does not sue in order to settle.  It sues in order to make precedents on the law books.  It protects people and the environment, holds the powerful accountable, and challenges government, corporate and individual wrongdoing.  It keeps the courthouse doors open for all.

At a recent meeting of influential Canadian lawyers, I asked do we need a Public Justice in Canada?  What do you think?
