Malpractice Victims Pleased with Injury Compensation
As noted in our press release last week, compensation cheques should have been received by class members by the end of last week. The compensation cheques were significantly more than the target amounts in the Breast Cancer Testing class action settlement, and we have had many emails from clients expressing their pleasure with the higher amounts of these cheques.
This is one of those moments which are very fulfilling for the lawyers who have played a role in obtaining the money compensation for victims of wrongdoing. We are certainly pleased to have played a role in making amends to the victims of the ER/PR testing scandal, in fact it was the class action that we started which exposed the scandal at Eastern Health and caused the government to institute the Cameron Inquiry. This is one of the most satisfying cases I have ever been involved in, and it has been a privilege to represent the class members.
