Ches Crosbie is voted – by other lawyers – as a leader in the fields of personal injury law and medical malpractice. He is listed, with a handful of others, in the peer-reviewed Canadian Legal LEXPERT Directory, and is included in the publication Best Lawyers in Canada.
A former Rhodes scholar and Dalhousie Law graduate, Ches joined the Newfoundland and Labrador bar in 1983. He formed the law firm of Ches Crosbie Barristers in 1991 to provide access to justice to individuals, particularly those who traditionally have had little contact with lawyers. Ches Crosbie Barristers has been a leader in providing useful information to the consumer, and client access to justice through ethical contingent fees. Ches pursues claims in the areas of accidental injury or death, medical negligence, class action law, and selected commercial litigation. His firm’s client-centered philosophy is to pursue just and timely outcomes based on reasonable accommodation, and to vigorously litigate when necessary. The firm’s commitment to provide access to justice has resulted in numerous settlement and case law benchmarks. He is a governor of the American Association for Justice, and a founder and former President of the Atlantic Provinces Trial Lawyers Association.

- Does it matter that I didn't see the doctor right after my car accident?
- Do I have to use my own health insurance for my auto accident injuries? I've been injury in a motor vehicle accident and my doctor has referred me for therapy. I have private health coverage through work and I have Accident Benefits Coverage on my auto policy. My auto insurer is telling me I have to use my own private health coverage to pay for therapy costs prior to accessing my Accident Benefits Coverage. Why?
- I was injured in a car accident and my insurance company is telling me I have to use my personal insurance (e.g. Desjardins, Blue Cross, Manulife) to pay for my massage therapy, physiotherapy and prescription drugs before I can use either the accident benefit coverage (Section B) on my automobile policy, or the insurance of the guy who hit me. Is this right?

- I took out a $500 payday loan, repaid it a couple of times at outrageous rates and then lost my job. I couldn't repay the last time, so now a lawyer representing the payday loan company is threatening to sue for $4,500 in damages. Definitely need some legal advice here please.
